Was looking for a barber shop to get a haircut today since my reguarl barber shop was closed. I came across The Open Blade Barber shop in Somerset, KY and thought I would give them a chance and I'm glad I did. The main entrance has everything you need from beard creams to oils, hair care items, hats/shirts and so much more. The chairs and stations are through a door and as soon as you walkthrough their station's setup blow you away with how clean, organized and they have everything they need to cut, trim or shave your head. The staff are so friendly and make you feel like old friends they have known for years which is awesome. I normally get my hair cut short on the sides/back and have the hair on top trimmed but I decided to change that up and shave it all off for the first time ever and so happy I did. The prices are a little higher than my normal barber but not by much but on the other hand cheaper then others I have seen so in the long run very reasonable especially when you see what all they do. I love supporting local shops and will definitely be back to The Open Blade Barber Shop.
Kevin McQueary is hands-down the best barber I’ve ever had. He’s consistent, pays close attention to detail, and always makes sure I leave looking sharp. You can tell he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his clients. The whole experience is always relaxed and professional. This was a truly wonderful experience! The eclectic style is evident from the moment I walked in the front door. This place is like a Jeep museum, and has a million things to see throughout. It is quite obvious that the business is a professional barber shop too! I was greeted at the door, and seated right away. The barber asked how I wanted my hair, and went straight to work. He kept his demeanor the entire time, while intelligently negotiating a conversation about current events and some special items in the shop. Truly worth the visit, and I'll definitely be returning. Update: I've been here quite a few times since my first review. I guess that I've just been lucky in the past. I was there today, and they were quite busy. There were appointments and walk ins all coming in at the same time. Everyone was greeted, but no one knows who got there first or who is next. I guess I'm not getting a cut today... If I come back, I'll call and get an appointment first!!!
Larry is a great barber and takes time to listen to how you want your hair cut. He does a good job cutting womens hair as well ! Super cool place inside.
